Uon Lan Master Help Center
v1.0.0 · October 2026
Getting Started Welcome! Uon Lan Master is a fully offline Windows desktop tool that brings LAN scanning, a device ledger, IP/VLAN planning, topology and config backup into one visual window — helping you see and maintain your whole LAN.
Getting Started
Uon Lan Master is built for admins and network operators. Every feature runs on your own LAN and nothing is uploaded. Download the zip, extract it and run the .exe — no install, no admin rights needed.
First Launch
The first launch shows a splash screen with a progress bar (about 3 seconds). The app initializes the local database, loads the 12-language files and applies the theme. All data stays on your computer.
Free Trial Limits
- Up to 3 projects
- Up to 20 devices and 30 tickets per project
- Watermarked HTML reports; removed in the Pro version
A note Scanning and monitoring run only on the local LAN of this machine; no data is ever uploaded.
Project Management
Create and maintain multiple network projects under "Project Management". Each project keeps its own device ledger, IP/VLAN/port planning, tickets, inspections and config backups.
Usage: click "New Project" to add one with name, customer and engineer; click "Set as current" to switch. The status bar shows the current project and free-tier usage in real time.
Sample data: in "Topology", click "Load sample data" to generate 8 demo devices and topology links in one click, so you can try every panel quickly.
Network Scan
Core feature: multi-threaded Ping + ARP probing over a CIDR range to quickly list the online hosts in a subnet.
How to Use
- Pick the network card and the CIDR range (e.g. 192.168.1.0/24)
- Set concurrency, timeout (ms) and the probe port range
- Click "Start scan"; progress and results stream live
- Click "Stop scan" to terminate anytime
- When a round finishes, online hosts are recorded into local scan history
Add to Ledger
After a scan, click "Add all to ledger" on the left to import online hosts into the device ledger (free tier respects the remaining quota); you can also add a single host from the right-click menu. The app infers the device type from the vendor automatically.
Tip Scan results import into the ledger in one step, linking scanning and assets; topology links are drawn manually or loaded from sample data.
Host List & Right-Click Actions
The table at the top of the main area shows online hosts: status, IP, MAC, hostname, vendor, latency, open ports and notes. Green = online, grey = offline, refreshed live.
Right-click Menu
- Copy IP / Copy MAC
- Ping test
- Port scan
- Remote desktop (RDP)
- SSH
- Open web page
- Add to ledger
- Add note
Port Scan
Run a TCP connect scan over a custom port range against the selected host and show open ports with their common service names.
Usage: select a host, then click "Port scan" or choose it from the right-click menu and enter the start/end port; results update immediately in the "Open ports" column.
ARP Information
Read the local LAN ARP table to list known IPs and MACs, and identify the vendor from the MAC prefix (OUI) — handy for confirming devices that did not respond to scanning.
Continuous Monitoring
With continuous monitoring enabled, the app scans in the background on a fixed interval and alerts you via pop-up and log when hosts come online or go offline — so network changes surface right away.
Threshold Alerts
- Set alert thresholds for latency, packet-loss rate, jitter and inbound/outbound bandwidth; the values are saved locally and applied to every sample (defaults: latency 300 ms, loss 20%, jitter 100 ms, bandwidth 100 Mbps up/down)
- When a sampled value crosses its threshold, the app raises an alert automatically
- Each over-threshold alert is written straight into the Tickets panel as a new incident — it records the host IP, current value and threshold, and repeated alerts for the same host/metric are deduplicated so you are not spammed
- Tick "Enable alerts" to turn this linkage on; pair it with email / Webhook push under Alarm Notifications
Note Monitoring runs in a background thread and never freezes the UI; you can stop the scan anytime.
Network Quality Monitoring
Beyond online/offline status, the Performance panel samples per-device network quality so you can watch real health trends instead of just reachability.
- Pick a device and the SNMP community (default "public"), then click "Sample" once or enable "Auto sample" (every 5 s) to keep collecting in the background
- Each sample records latency, packet-loss rate and jitter, plus inbound (down) and outbound (up) throughput read from SNMPv1 interface counters
- When SNMP is unreachable the panel degrades gracefully to latency-only monitoring, so it still works on devices without SNMP
- Results show in a live table (latest 60 samples) and a bandwidth trend chart for up/down throughput; "Clear history" resets the stored samples
Tip Set thresholds here and tick "Enable alerts" to turn a poor-quality reading into an automatic ticket — see Continuous Monitoring and Alarm Notifications.
Alarm Notifications
When an over-threshold alert fires, the app can push it out by email or Webhook in addition to logging it and opening a ticket — so you hear about incidents even when you are not watching the screen.
Email (SMTP)
- Configure the SMTP server and port (port 465 uses SSL; other ports use STARTTLS), the sending account and password, and one or more recipient addresses separated by commas
- Each alert mail is prefixed "[UonLanMaster]" in the subject and lists the severity, host IP, detail and the time it fired
Webhook
- Enter a Webhook URL; the app sends a JSON POST (title, text, severity, host IP and time) to that address, ready for your own bot, dashboard or group robot
Note Notifications are only sent when you have configured a channel and enabled alerts; the app never pushes anything unless a real threshold is breached.
Log Panel
The panel at the bottom streams scan logs in real time — scan start, completion and alive-host counts. "Clear log" and "Export log" (to txt) are available.
Configuration Panel
The left config panel remembers the last scanned subnet, concurrency, timeout, port range and monitoring interval; settings persist to a local json and are restored on next launch.
In Settings you can also choose the UI language (12 languages: 简体中文, 繁體中文, English, Français, Deutsch, Español, Português, Italiano, Русский, 日本語, 한국어, Nederlands) and theme (Modern light / Dark / High contrast); changes apply after a restart.
Topology
Place the project's devices on a draggable canvas and connect them with links to see the network structure at a glance.
- Auto-layout: arrange nodes neatly in one click
- Drag nodes to reposition; double-click for details
- Add / manage / delete links (Ethernet, Fiber, Wireless, Console)
- Load sample data: generate demo devices and links in one click
- Auto-Discover: layers devices by type (core/gateway on top, then switches, servers and terminals) and suggests links from port peer wiring and shared-VLAN gateways; existing links are kept, not duplicated
- Live Discover: merges each scan round straight into the canvas — newly found hosts are added as devices, known hosts are refreshed, and hosts that went quiet are marked offline; suggested links are added or updated automatically
Device Ledger
Manage all network devices in a project: name, type, brand, model, IP, MAC, VLAN, location, status, OS and notes — plus attached files.
Device types: switch, router, firewall, server, AP, NAS, printer, camera, controller and more; status: online / offline / standby / retired. Attachments are copied into the local data directory.
Tip Scanned online hosts can be imported into this ledger in one step; device type is inferred from the vendor.
IP / VLAN / Port Planning
"IP Planning" manages subnet address allocation with a built-in subnet calculator (enter a CIDR to get network / broadcast / host count); address status includes In use, Reserved, Free and Blacklist.
"VLAN Planning" keeps VLAN ID, name, subnet, gateway and purpose; "Port Cabling" records each device's ports — port label, patch position and peer device/port — for easier maintenance and troubleshooting.
Tickets
Log and track network issues: subject, description, priority, status, assignee and notes, with one-click "Mark as resolved".
Priority: high / medium / low; status: open / in progress / resolved / closed.
Inspections
Record routine inspections per project: title, check item, result (pass / fail / warning), inspector, time and notes — building an auditable inspection archive.
Config Backup
Save configuration backups for devices: device, file path, version, backup time, and you can also store the config content locally.
- View config: shows the saved content in a dialog
- Import config: reads content from a text file into this backup
- Export config: saves the content to a text file
- Backups without content show a notice without affecting the device record
- Compare versions: pick two backup IDs to diff their stored config content — changed lines are marked removed/added with a summary of removed vs added lines; identical backups are reported as such
Export
Export project data as CSV or an HTML report for archiving, reporting and sharing.
- CSV: devices / IP / VLAN / ports / tickets / inspections / config backups, all openable in Excel
- HTML: a full report covering all seven data sections
Note Free-tier HTML reports carry a watermark; the Pro version removes it.
Backup & Restore
Package the local database into a portable zip and restore it in one click when needed.
Data stays on this machine and is never uploaded; please keep backups safe. Restore overwrites current data, so confirm before proceeding.
License & About
The "License" page shows the machine code and activates your license; "About" shows version info.
Activation: copy the machine code → buy a license on our website → receive an activation key → paste and activate. Verification is fully offline — no internet, no machine info is uploaded.
